Spring training offers you the opportunity to see your home team or the baseball team you love in relaxed practice mode. Games are less stressful for the players who are sometimes open to greeting fans in the warm Florida sunshine. Ready to pack your bags for the Sunshine State or just drive across Florida to see your favorite team? Below are a few important pointers you should know about seeing each of the Grapefruit League teams’ games. Most of these spring training games are scheduled from February 21 to March 24, 2021. Most of the games are clustered around the Tampa and Palm Beach environs. Be sure to ask the particular facilities ahead of time by email or phone what social distancing practices are being followed at your park of interest.

Jet Blue Park at Fenway South in Fort MyersWhen you arrive at Jet Blue Park in Fort Myers you are in attendance at Fenway South. When you arrive, you will find a statue of Hall of Famer Ted Williams welcoming you to the ballpark. At Jet Blue Park, you can happily browse all kinds of T-shirts, caps and memorabilia as an adjacent street is closed off before games to allow open air shopping. The relaxed stadium at Jet Blue Park is modeled after Fenway Park. It has its own Green Monster and you’re only a short drive from the beautiful beaches of Sanibel and Captiva Island as well. Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium was renovated in 2017. It now features a 360-degree walkway which allows fans to circle the entire facility. There’s also a grassy berm beyond the outfield that you can sit or lie down on while you enjoy a refreshment or two. Explore Munn Park Historic District in Lakeland. The historic district is kown for its early 1900s architecture and antique shopping.

Now the World Series rivals share a spring training complex. The complex features 30-foot sculptures of each team’s logos. These scupltures are popular spots for taking selfies and other photographs. A lot of fans spread out on the grassy lawns beyond the outfield fences. Nearby Clematis Street in West Palm offers a wide variety of restaurants and bars. Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals
Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in JupiterJupiter hosts spring training games for the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals. Jupiter is about 16 miles north of West Palm Beach. The standing-room party deck down the right field line is quite busy and the big selling food items include Super Dean Dogs. Super Dean Dogs are giant hot dogs served in a pretzel bun. Also delicious is the Chicago Cubs Hater Dog. The Cubs Hater Dog is a Chicago-style frankfurter with celery salt, onions, vivid-green relish, mustard, tomato, hot peppers and a pickle spear. There are several casual restaurants with nice outdoor patios along Jupiter’s Loxahatchee River. Hammond Stadium at CenturyLink Sports Complex in Fort MyersHammond Stadium at CenturyLink Sports Complex in Fort Myers appears to have been modelled after Churchill Downs Racetrack in Kentucky. You can opt for lawn seating areas along the right field line and behind the left field fence. Try the Richard Simmons Burger which comes topped with bratwurst, chicken breast, cheese and three strips of bacon. Nearby you can visit to the Edison and Ford Winter Estates located in central Fort Myers where Henry Ford and Thomas Edison lived during inclement northern winter weather. New York MetsClover Park in Port St. Lucie Clover Park in Port St. Lucie is where the Mets hold their spring training. Clover Park is located about 50 miles north of West Palm Beach. Clover Park is in the middle of a $57 million renovation. This first phase of renovation planned was completed by the team’s arrival on February 10, 2021. Spring training games are on for this year. The upgrades are said to include new seating, a revamped concourse, and more. Port St. Lucie has 21 miles of peaceful beaches to enjoy between games.

TD Ballpark in Dunedin The Blue Jays spring training home is located about 30 minutes west of Tampa. TD Park in Dunedin was once known as Dunedin Stadium. TD Ballpark is just finishing a $100 million face-lift and expansion this winter. New features include a new boardwalk for pedestrians behind the outfield fence and an air-conditioned bar on the third base line. The stadium is only a short walk from the boutiques and restaurants in downtown Dunedin.
